Library
Introduction
The National Health Research Institutes library was established in 1996, aiming at supporting medical and health care research. Our collection focuses on medicine, medical history, life sciences and environmental protection related subjects. Currently, the library holds 12,000 more volumes of books and 782 titles of journal. Also, electronic resources as below are subscribed.
- Databases: Including Scifinder, JCR, Delphion, as well as some chinese databases.
- E-Journals : More than 8,000 titles, such as Blackwell, Springer, SDOL, JOSTOR are collected.
- E-Books : Cancer Handbook, Current Protocls, Books24x7, totally 38 titles.

- Circulation and renewals : Borrowing, returning, reserving, renewing of materials.
- Web portal search
We have built a comprehensive web system for users to access all of our services in a single web page. As add-ons of the web, we set search engine, and made links to publisher’s full text website and InterLibary Loan system. - InterLibrary Loan & Document Delivery Service
Providing copy or borrowing materials national-wide.
Current Contents Service and Selective Dissemination Service
Automatic search-and-email of literature to individual researcher according to the search strategy set by the user, i.e. on journal title, keyword, author and so on. Searched result is sent via e-mail every weekend.
Ready Reference Service
- Help-desk system was established to handle requests.
We maintain the library billboard to provide users with library news and provide customized one-to-one courses to promote our services. - Providing Editing Service for special journal submitting style, as a way to help investigators handling their publication list.
Training Programs
NHRI Library provides training courses all year round, with topics covering database retrieval, how to use EndNote and Reference Manager, fulltext search, and so on.
